A Quiet Little Corner...

One of my passions in life is to make old, lifeless furniture into beautiful works of art for the home. This post is about this little antique, homely chair I got at a garage sale about four years ago for five dollars. The chair sat in my mom's basement until this past spring when I decided to give it new life, and bring it to my home here in NC. Unfortunately I do not have a before picture of the chair, but let me paint a picture for you: It was a dirty oak stain from years of ware and tear. The cushions on the chair were old and musty with a horrid paisley pattern of lime green and blue. The cushions needed to be tossed, and I was left with a skeletal chair to make into a masterpiece. So with out further ado..... my cozy little antique chair in my cozy little corner...

I love this little chair.. I have a tree decal that will be accompanying the wall next to the chair soon.

I painted the chair Jet Black. & added this lovely cushion from Pier 1 Imports.

I bought this back cushion from Big Lots.. I never shop there, but one day I randomly went in there & fell in love with this organic fabric pillow.

I love this little bird pillow, I have another one as well with a blue bird. I am obsessed.

I love this little corner in my living room... Do not be fooled this is one of the most comfy little chairs ever, perfect for reading a book in, all snuggled up in a blanket.

Don't mind my empty frame, I know it makes me cringe as well. I promise you I am printing new pictures this week to put in them. I got these shelves from Pottery Barn , I am thinking of adding more shelves in this little corner for more of an eclectic look.

Remember that tree decal I talked about in the beginning of the blog, that I am going to put in the corner by the chair? Well, here is my inspiration pieces...

Keep in mind these are my inspirations. My tree decal is a lot smaller & a Jet black color with little birds.. I was looking for a perfect spot for my decal & I think this cozy little corner is it! Look for my tree decal in a blog post to come!

Love Always,
