{Burlap Bag}
This is the burlap bag I bought for 5 dollars at an antique store.
Anyone from Minnesota? I wish it said Michigan.. But I love the writing, that's my favorite part of burlap pillows.
Honestly, to make this pillow, I took the easy way out. I used a pillow I already had as the insert, & used "no sew" strips & an iron as the seal. I know, I know, I just got a brand new sewing machine, but I am a little intimidated by it!!
Backside of the pillow.. I absolutely love the look of burlap.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my burlap pillow. Another addition to my eclectic mix of pillows. Do you have any projects that you are working on right now?? Go link them up on Liz Marie Blog Facebook!! I would love to see all of your DIY projects. Hope you all are having a good week.. Two more days until the weekend!!!
xoxo

I love it! It looks great. I honestly think ironing all of that fusible seaming is harder than sewing a few lines - don't worry, once you get past getting her threaded, you're way more than halfway there!

ReplyDeleteMake no excuses for simplifying a project. At least you did the project. That burlap sack would have drifted from closet to closet in my house for 3 years before I did anything with it.

ReplyDeleteStopping by from the weekend blog hop. Great pillow, and I love the shutter you did. I think you should leave the wreaths the way the are- floating and simple, with an air of mystery. It brings out the antique feeling of the shutter.

Oh to be so lucky to find something so wonderful at a thrift store!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your burlap pillow. I keep seeing them in lots of home decor blogs & magazines, but I'm curious. Do they have an odor like the new burlap in the fabric stores? Also wondering about the feel? I know they are strickly decorative, but if someone leaned against them on a sofa or a chair, would it be rough & prickly? Inquiring minds need to know! LOL!!! I'm a new follower & hope you might visit my blog sometime & follow back.
