I love this color paint, again it was not labeled because I got it from the 'Mis-tint paint section' at Lowes. But if I had to name this paint color I would call it "Vanilla Cupcake Batter" It's a very creamy white with a hint of yellow undertones.
I love layers on the table. If I were to have this in my home, I would style it very eclectically & use all three layers to display things.
The Stencil part was so simple. After a few layers of the "vanilla cupcake" paint, I simply allowed that to dry & then centered the stencil on the table. With a sponge brush I sponged on this light blue color. The quality in the stencil allowed there to be no runs & very clean lines!
I love this table very much, but since I have no room for it in my house, I will most likely be selling it. I want to keep it!!
I chose not to distress this table like I usually do on my favorite furniture makeovers, but I wanted to keep it clean and simple with all the layers & the stenciling.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my {4th} post of the week. That's a record. I really enjoyed stenciling this table. I am planning on stenciling a LOT more. I may go a little stencil crazy, but I'm sure you guys won't mind. Have you stenciled something lately? If you have, go link it up on Liz Marie Blog Facebook Page, I would love to see all your stencil projects! I hope all your projects this weekend are turning out fantastic... O, & don't forget to enter my current giveaway HERE. Trust me, you don't want to miss out.
xx Liz
Loved this so much that I just had to pin it! Did you have to sand it first before painting? And did you use an oil based paint or latex? I always seem to have problems with paint peeling off when I redo furniture.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! Super color and how lucky you were to find it on the mis-tint counter. I am never so lucky. Love the stencil too.
ReplyDeleteLindy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! i really love this table as well. I am very happy with how it turned out. I used an outdoor latex paint actually. So very durable. I sanded it a little bit.. but actually this table has a lot of little dents in it which I think add character. I also ended with a water based polyurethane to help keep the paint on. I know what you are talking about with the peeling I think the poly will help a lot! - Liz Marie
Thank you so much "Studio Carolina" I love the color too! Isn't it unique.. it's not your typical white. I wish this would go in my house. I love it! You should really ask the associate in the paint section at lowes they were really helpful by showing me all the mistint paints! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty!
